Indian Band “Faridkot” create ‘The Expendables 3’ India Anthem

North based Indian band ‘Faridkot’ are all set to get a ‘desi’ twist to the promos of ‘The Expendables 3’. The Expendable series is very popular with the Indian audience, as is world over. To further strengthen the connect with Indian audience, PVR Pictures and MVP Entertainment (India) in collaboration with ArtistAloud organized a contest online for the ‘The Expendables 3’, inviting entries to compose the India ‘Anthem .

Among thousands of entries that came across, only 15 were shortlisted. ‘Faridkot’ was the band that rose above the rest and won the competition for their original composition ‘Mastaane’. The winning track by the band that refer to their music genre as ‘confused pop’ will be featured with the latest India Special trailer, soon to hit the web and cinemas.

Winning is nothing new for this very energetic youthful band who were also the finalists of the Channel V Launch pad 3. The exuberant Vocalist of Faridkot IP Singh stated, “We are always up for competitions. They help us better ourselves. But this was different and a huge opportunity for us. It is a high, of a different level to be the official India song for possibly the biggest action franchise ever. Not to forget all the mega stars that we have grown up idolizing”

Speaking further on the composition, I P Singh said, “You never know what happens in the end, but we knew that we have the sensibilities to create this number. We know that the song needs power, some heavy drumming and guitars. Though, the real challenge was to not move away from the mass appeal of ‘The Expendables Franchise’. This is where our USP lies. We are ‘confused pop’ as the genre. That means we have the capacity to create something relatable but to introduce a few unique elements to deliver a totally fresh composition. Thankfully ‘The Expendables 3’ team agreed with our vision.”
