ஒவ்வொரு பாடலும் கதைக்கு உறுதுணையாய் இருக்கும் – புறம்போக்கு இசையமைப்பாளர் ‘வர்ஷன்’

இயக்குனர் எஸ்.பி. ஜனநாதன் இயக்கத்தில் ஆர்யா, விஜய் சேதுபதி, ஷாம் நடிக்கும் ‘புறம்போக்கு என்கிற பொதுவுடமை’ திரைப்படம் மே 1ஆம் தேதி வெளியாக உள்ளது. தனது படங்களில் புதுமையை தரும் இயக்குனர் ஜனநாதன் இப்படத்தில் இளம் இசையமைப்பாளர் வர்ஷன் அறிமுகப்படுத்துகிறார்.

படத்தின் தலைப்பே அனைவரின் கவனத்தை ஈர்த்து அனைவரது எதிர்பார்ப்பையும் தூண்டியுது. அந்த எதிர்பார்ப்புக்கு ஈடேற்றும் வகையில் இசையமைப்பது எனக்கு பெரும் சவாலாக அமைந்தது. எனினும் ஒரு புதுமுகத்திற்கு தேசிய விருது பெற்ற இயக்குனரின் திரைப்படத்திற்கோ, UTV போன்ற பெரிய நிறுவனத்தின் படத்தில் வாய்ப்பு கிடைப்பது அபூர்வம். ஜனநாதன் சார் இப்படம் முழுவதும் என்னை வழி நடத்தி என்னை இசையமைப்பாளராக உருவாக்கியுள்ளார்.

லண்டன் டிரிநிட்டி இசைக் கல்லூரியில் பட்டப்படிப்பு முடித்து பின் இந்திய பாரம்பரிய இசையை சென்னை இசை கல்லூரியில் பயின்றேன். என்னுடைய சில பாடல்கள் ஜனநாதன் சார் அவர்களுக்கு பிடித்திருந்தது எனக்கு ‘‘புறம்போக்கு என்கிற பொதுவுடமை’ படத்தில் வாய்ப்பளித்தார். இப்படத்தில் ஐந்து பாடல்கள் உள்ளன. ஒவ்வூறு பாடலும், ஜனநாதன் சாரின் திரைக்கதைக்கு உறுதுணையாய் இருக்கும் வண்ணம் அமைய வேண்டும் என்று நினைவில் வைத்துகொண்டு இசையமைத்தேன். படத்தின் பின்னணி இசையும் நன்றாக வந்துள்ளது.

“ஒரு இயக்குனரிடம் வேலை புரிவது மிகவும் புதிதாக இருந்தது. ஒரு தனித்த இசை கலைஞனாய் வேலை செய்வது மிகவும் எளிது. ஆனால் ஒரு இசையமைப்பாளர் ரசிகர்களின் ரசனைக்கேற்ப இசையமைக்க வேண்டும். ‘புறம்போக்கு என்கிற பொதுவுடமை’ திரைப்படம் என்னை ஒரு இசையமைப்பாளராய் மேலும் மெருகேற்றியது. படத்தின் இசை 14 ஆம் தேதி வெளியாக உள்ளது. பாடல்கள் அனைத்தும் அனைவருக்கும் பிடிக்கும் என்று நம்புகிறேன்” எனத் தன்னிசையைப் போல் இனிமையுடன் கூறினார் இளம் இசையமைப்பாளர் வர்ஷன்.

‘Purampokku Engira Podhuvudamai’ transformed from a composer to Entertainer says ‘Varshan’

‘Purampokku Engira Podhuvudamai’ directed by SP Jhananathan starring Arya, Vijay Sethupathi , Shaam and Karthiga in the lead is heading for May 1st release. The director who is well known for his musical taste is introducing a bright new talented music director Varshan in the upcoming film ‘Purampokku Engira Podhuvudamai’.

“ The film’s title captured the attention of all. It become a challenge for me to run on par with the film’s expectation indeed. Yet it is a golden opportunity for a debutant to work in a multi starrer film directed by a critically acclaimed director for a big banner like UTV Motion Pictures. Jhananthan Sir guided me all through this project and moulded me to be a music director” started the debutant composer Varshan.

“I am basically a music instrumentation graduate from Trinity College of London. Later pursued Indian music from Chennai Music College. Jhananthan sir liked my scratch tracks and gave me this opportunity to work in ‘Purampokku Engira Podhuvudamai’. I have composed five songs in the film. All the more I was very conscious that my compostion should complement Jhananathan sir’s script. The background has too came very well ”

When it comes to film music a music director should be analytical about audience. ‘Purampokku Engira Podhuvudamai’ movie transformed from a composer to an entertainer.
