Kathai Thiraikadhai Vasanam Iyakkam Movie Review

Director Radhakrishnan Parthiban’s Kathai Thiraikadhai Vasanam Iyakkam (KTVI) is strikingly different from the rest.

The movie is about cinema and the changing taste and preference of today’s audience. The travails of filmmakers is what the movie is about.

The movie revolves around Thamizh (Santhosh Pratap) and his friends Arvind (Dinesh), Shirley(Sahithya), Murali(Vijay Ram) and Seenu(Thambi Ramaiah) who are all waiting to make it big at the movie industry. They spend their day discussing about films to come up with a script for their next film. Meanwhile there is an IT professional Daksha (Akila Kishore), who loves Thamizh and marries him. She encourages him to achieve his ambition of becoming a filmmaker soon.

The writer Parthiban has succeeded in helping the director come up trumps in the film.

The likes of Vishal, Vijay Sethupathi, Prakashraj, Tapasee, Arya, Amala Paul and producer Dhananjayan appear on screen.

Thambi is spontaneous and renders a wonderful performance. Santosh Pratap as Thamizh reminds us of Parthiban in his hey days as actor. The scene-stealer is Akila Kishore. She emotes well to elevate the movie to greater heights.

The climax is what is very novel. Parthiban is back with a bang thanks to his shrewd writing and novel ideas.

Verdict: Splendid show
