Empower villages. The real India lies there. This forms the crux of Kurai Ondrumillai. Directed by Karthik, it stars newcomers Geethan and Haritha Parukod in the lead roles.
A youngster who has a mission to achieve and a women medico with practical approach towards life are the pivotal characters in the film.
They both embark on an emotional journey.
Geethan works in a company and his plans to achieve target as salesman is unique. He wants to reach out to the villages.
He tries hard to convince his superiors that only way to make the nation economically strong is by taking technology to rural areas. But there is a hitch in the form of one of his colleagues. He scuttles all his plans. Adding fuel to the fire, Geethan’s romance breaks.
The film that has shades of Swades sums up life in villages today.
Geethan is okay. He does a decent job. Of course, emotions sit well on him. Haritha Parukod is the scene-stealer. She does a cool and casual job. Spontaneous in her reactions, she walks away with all applause.
A crowd funding film, it has treaded a new path and the director fairly succeeds in his attempt.
But all said, a bit more tight screenplay and crisp scenes would have added some merit.
