Shankar’s sends reply to Ilayaraja

Legendary music director Ilayaraja has sent a legal notice to director Shankar for remixing and rearranging his composition Ooru Vittu Ooru Vandhu song, in the recently released film Kappal without permission and in violation of copyrights.

The film was released by Shankar’s production house S Pictures.

Ilayaraja’s advocate has urged Shankar to pay royalty immediately for using the song and if Shankar fails to comply with the notice, then criminal and civil proceedings will be initiated against him.

In response to the legal notice, S Pictures clarified that it had acquired the rights of the song from the music label which released ‘Karakatakaran’ into market.
