‘This film is on ambition and compromise the two factors that are inevitable part of any body’s life. If you are nursing an ambition ,you should never compromise for a short term benefit as a result. This could jeopardize the ambitious travel. This theme is laced with intense humour.
It has been my intention all through to make a humorous film.Some how i do not believe in mindless humour, and here in ‘Uppu Karuvadu’ i had a perfect platform to infuse it.
Karunakaran who is up on the ladder in terms of popularity plays the protagonist and is paired opposite Nanditha. M.S.Baskar,Mayil samy , Kumaravel, Chams, Narayanan, new face Rakshitha, Saravanan and ‘Doubt’ Senthil form the casting.My technical team consist of Mahesh Muthusamy the director of photography, Ace guitarist Steve Vatz the Music director, Madhan Karky the lyricist, Editor Jai and Art Director Kathir.
The Choreographer is Satish who plays a very important role in this film. Dialogue writer Parthiban and myself as the screen play writer and Director. I have an additional responsibility of producing this film too with Mr Ramjee Narasiman.
‘Uppu Karuvadu’ is shot over the coastal regions and we recapture the life style of the people who live in the coast, What better title than ‘Uppu Karuvadu’ with’ some thing fishy’ as the tag line ‘ summed up the Director with confidence as large as the ocean. The producer Ramjee Narasiman adds ‘ It was a casual encounter with the director
Radha Mohan that made me listen to the script. If a script can be so binding and enthralling why not i produce the film i thought and ‘ Uppu Karuvadu’ is born. It is a complete laugh riot and we are aiming for a mid summer release’.
