‘Thai Pongal’ is a harvest festival celebrated by Tamilians across the world. Traditionally celebrated at the time of harvest, Pongal is a festival of prosperity associated with harvest by thanking the Sun God, rain and the farm animals that have helped in the harvest. Celebrating this festive occasion, Vijay TV is all set for a stunning line up of shows and Premiere of Blockbuster movies on January 15 and 16, 2015.
Day 1 – Thursday, January 15, 2015
At 0700 hrs ‘Vanakkam Thamizha’ – An interesting breakfast show that captures the early morning scenes of Pongal. Popular faces of Tamil film industry will be seen celebrating Pongal in a village.
At 0800 hrs ’Pongal Sirappu Pattimandram’ on the auspicious day, the team debates around an interesting topic relevant to Tamilians.
At 0900 hrs ‘Suryavin Agaram Ippo Sigaram Aachu’ – Surya and Karthi comes for the first time in a chat show to share their eminent activities done in their Agaram foundation, a popular NGO that helps in youngster’s education. The chat show will contain their students who achieved through their foundation and the education experts along with the filmmakers, Vetrimaran, Pa.Ranjith and Ram who are known for their films of social responsibility.

MADRA – 1100 hrs
A box-office hit movie, starring Karthi and the debutante Catherine Teresa, that brought the real scene of the Northern Madras area with its original flavor through the lively characters and raw emotions. Directed by Attakathi fame, Pa. Ranjith, the movie was a phenomenal hit that connected well with the audience due to the reality emoted appropriately. SIGARAM THODU – 1400 hrs
An action thriller, starring Vikram Prabhu and Sathyaraj, that has a serious storyline about a father-son relationship. A cop story, that is packed with full –fledged action sequences entangled with interesting incidents that lead to a nail-biting climax.
At 1700 Koffee with DD – features a unique refreshing chat with Director Shankar, a star of tinsel town. Interesting moments and intriguing questionnaires to be part of this show!
